How To Buy A Sewing Machine

For years, people have asked me the same question: "What sewing machine should I buy?" I've never wanted to answer it for them, because I want you to get the machine that's right for you, not the machine I think is right for you.

Now, I've written a book to help you choose the machine that's right for you. In it, I first explain in detail (and close-up photos) how a sewing machine works, so you'll understand what you're looking at when you shop for a machine, even if you've never sewn a stitch in your life. Then I discuss some optional features you may be interested in, from the littlest features to the biggest, so you can look for the specific features you'll want to have. After discussing important aspects of computerized sewing machines, we move on to examining what major accessories you might want to buy with your machine. Then we'll examine strategies for how to find a good sewing machine dealer, how to test-drive a sewing machine, and finally I'll present a strategy for how you can use everything you've learned to select the sewing machine you really want.

This book is exclusively available for direct purchase.

How To Buy A Sewing Machine is a 6 by 9 inch book, with 58 pages.

The large type edition is 8½ by 11 inches, with 93 pages of comfortably large text and enlarged photos.

Coming soon Coming soon: a new book on contemporary sewing techniques
I'm presently working on a book about contemporary sewing techniques, and how to use new methods and materials to make your sewing faster and easier. This book is being written already, and should be available within a month or two.
