Cutting
- The length of line A-B-C should be the length around the foot at the
widest part. (This is the length all the way around, not just across.)
- The length of line B-I should be the length of the foot at its longest.
- The sum of the lengths of lines D-H and G-J should form a loop long
enough to pass the foot through. (These lines will form the opening of
the slipper.)
- The diagram as shown is for a slipper with a short extension which
goes slightly up the leg. The length of this extension is the length of
lines D-E or F-G. To make a slipper without boot top, reduce the length
of these lines to zero.
- The length of line H-I-J is twice the length that you want the slipper to
rise up from the floor to its highest point.
- Don't forget to add seam allowances.
- Cut two. (One for each foot.)
Instructions
- Fold cut piece along fold line (line B-I). Match point A to point
C. Match point D to point G. Match point E to point F. Match point H to
point J.
- Sew along line AC-EF.
- Sew along line HJ-I. This forms a
slipper with open toe along line AC-B, the foot opening at line DG-HJ, and
the heel at point I.
- Rotate the slipper so the foot opening points
toward you.
- Moosh the front of the slipper flat so that point AC
meets point B.
- Sew the toe closed.
