Important moments in sports history, including a day in 1994

In 1994 UPS became one of 11 worldwide Olympic Partners. At that time we made a commitment to providing resources, services, and business expertise to the International Olympic Committee, National Olympic Committees, Olympic Games Organizing Committees, sports federations and national teams.

Winter or summer, our support has helped make the Olympic Games possible

At the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games we sponsored the U.S. Men's National Handball Team, the Canadian Men's 4x100m and 4x400m Relay Teams, the Canadian Men's Field Hockey Team, and the German Equestrian Teams.

UPS also sponsored Olympic-related events, such as the USA Track and Field trials and the US Olympic Trials for Sprint Canoe and Kayak.

At the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympic Games, we sponsored the Canadian Speed Skating Team, the Chilean Ski Team, and the Greek Bobsleigh Team, as well as events such as the U.S. Long Track Speed Skating Olympic Trials and the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.

To the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympic Games we shipped close to 7000 lbs. of equipment for the U.S. Team alone. Our shipment to Japan included necessities for every athlete:
