Robert Andersen
Robert Andersen played basketball growing up in Kenya, but didn't start running for sport until 1990 when he
moved to Denmark. In just five years Robert qualified for the World Championships in the 1500 meters,
advancing to the semifinals in 1995. In 1997 Andersen defeated the world champion and won the Grand Prix 1500m
in Fukuoka, Japan. Robert holds the Scandinavian record for 1500 meters in 3:31.17, as well as several other Danish
track records and titles. He's had an injury to his achilles tendon, but that hasn't stopped him.
Robert is training seriously for Sydney with the Danish National Team for the 1500m, 800m and 3000m events. He will be well known
to Europeans at the time of the Olympic Games, as an UPS ad TV spot features him and his Olympic pursuit.
